What is this kit exactly? What does “AC Coupled 5.0 kW & Gen2 4.5 kWh” mean?

  • The “5.0 kW” refers to the inverter capacity — it can deliver up to 5 kilowatts of AC power.

  • “Gen2 4.5 kWh Battery” means the battery module stores about 4.5 kilowatt-hours of energy (usable). “Gen2” is the generation/version, meaning updated features or improvements.

  • “AC-coupled” means that the battery system and inverter are connected on the AC side (after the solar inverter or grid), not directly on the DC side (solar panels). This gives more flexibility, especially if you already have solar panels or want to integrate with grid power more easily.

How much energy can I store and how long will it last?

  • Stored energy: 4.5 kWh usable from the battery. For example, if you have appliances that consume 1.5 kW, the battery could theoretically power them for about 3 hours (4.5 / 1.5). In practice, losses reduce that.

  • Battery life: The battery is rated for around 6,000 cycles (charge/discharge cycles) under specified conditions, with ~90% Depth-of-Discharge.

  • Warranty: Usually 10 years for the battery.

Can I add more battery modules later?

  • Yes. The Triple Power HV battery can be scaled (more modules added) up to certain limits. For example, the 4.5 kWh module can be installed in “series with up to 3 more batteries of the same size.” So you can expand storage if your needs grow

How efficient is it? Will there be a lot of loss?

  • The inverter has high round-trip efficiency. The specification says the X1-AC inverter has up to ~97% efficiency in converting AC to battery and battery back to AC. solaxpower.com+2solaxpower.com+2

  • There will always be some losses (heat, wiring, inverter conversion etc.), but this is quite good for residential battery systems.
